Excellent experience, Rodeo Forever!
After a few years out of the country, we're back, and the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo was our first since returning. LOVED it!! We frequent rodeos, until a few years ago, we went to local rodeos, as well as the PBR and NFR world championships each year in Las Vegas.
Excellent, hassle-free experience after the crowds in Las Vegas. The rodeo itself was a blast, with national-level and local contestants, it was professional on every level. Lemme tell ya, no crowds getting in, finding our seats, and going to the bathroom during and after!
The Brad Paisley concert afterwards was also nice, although the sound seemed garbled and a little muted up in the nosebleed seats where we were (they were the "best available" when purchased a couple months ago). Brad Paisley didn't seem as energetic as he used to be, but hey, it's been a couple decades since I saw him last, and we're all getting old. Great audience interaction, however.
On the downside, as always, was getting out of the venue afterwards. There's got to be a better way with a major event center like that. Also, the legroom in the upper balcony sucks for a 6'6" guy. Wish I could have found seats down below, but hey, I'm used to that.
Parking was easy, to save parking, we paid the extra 10 bucks to park closer and had about a 10-minute walk to the event. Overall a great experience we WILL be repeating in the coming years. Next time we'll go for a few days instead of down and back from Georgetown in the same night.
